A SAT test is an entrance examination for students aspiring to admission to undergraduate programmes overseas, particularly in colleges and universities in the United States and Canada. This test is a written test using paper and pencil and is used to assess the language skills and mathematical reasoning abilities of applicants. • SAT Exam eligibility criterion: what are the requirements?

The SAT exam has no set age or eligibility requirements for students to appear, but students usually take it after finishing high school and are applying for undergraduate courses. This test is usually taken by students between 16 and 18 years of age.
It is important to note, however, that the examination does not have an age restriction. Applicants aged 12 or under may apply to the SAT by mail, but only if they are 12 years old or under. The examination is open to all ages.

• The New SAT Exam Format: What Is It?

1. Reading section:

There are 52 multiple-choice questions in the SAT reading section. It lasts 65 minutes. Students must synthesize and interpret the information in five passages based on evidence-based questions.

In this section, you will typically encounter three types of questions: There are three types of questions: Factual questions relating to the main idea, Rhetorical questions asking you to critique the style, tone or meaning of the passage and Synthesis questions asking you to draw conclusions or draw connections between passages, graphics, charts, and tables.

2. Writing Section:

There are 44 multiple choice questions based on four passages in the Writing and Language section of the SAT. It takes 35 minutes to complete. You will edit the passage and correct grammar in this section, which means that you will have to make changes to the content of the passage.

Standard English Convention questions and Expression of Idea questions will be asked in this section, where you must correct grammatical errors and punctuation errors in a passage.

3. SAT Mathematics section:

In the Mathematics section of the SAT, you will be graded based on your ability to reason mathematically, with a range from 200-800 points. There are 58 questions in this 80-minute section, 80% of which are multiple-choice.

Likewise, 20% of questions are student-produced, which are known as Grid-ins, where instead of selecting from four answer options, students circle/shade the corresponding numbers to enter their answers.

There are two major sections to the SAT, Math and Evidence-based Reading and Writing. The score for each section varies between 200 and 800, making a total of 1600.
